Hello families, 

This week the grade 3 students have begun to explore multiplication. We looked at how multiplication is repeated addition and equal groups of numbers. 

Students did a great job explaining their thinking when solving a variety of multiplication problems. 

I can demonstrate an understanding of multiplication up to 5x5.

In literacy , our work focused on understanding what a biography is. We read the biographies of Jackie Robinson, Gandi and Ruby Bridges as a class and in small groups. We also looked at how biographies are usually constructed in chronological order. In writing we interviewed a classmate in order to gather information to write their biography.
