 Hello families,

In writing, our class has been focused on fictional narrative story writing. We have been practicing including all of the writing skills we have learned and improved on throughout the year in our latest writing pieces.

Over the last 2 weeks in Science we have been looking at designs of different bridges we see within our community. The different types of bridges we have talked about are arch, beam, suspension and truss. Students spent time identifying and sketching bridges on our community walks, and in the classroom we tested different designs by seeing which ones can hold the most mass.

I can evaluate the suitability of different materials and design for their use in a building task.

Ms. Yasin's math group continued to practice counting coins this week. Students were able to use their double digit addition and subtraction skills to now add and subtract monetary values! When counting, a helpful strategy for students was to start with counting the largest value coins, and then adding on the smaller values. Money Bingo was the highlight of math this week!

Notes for next week:

-Our field trip to the zoo is on Wednesday June 1st!

- We are still collecting cereal boxes for an upcoming Math project. Thanks to everyone who has helped out so far.
