 Hello Families, 

Happy Halloween!

This week, students were working on their inferencing skills using Halloween themed riddles. We practiced looking for important words in the riddles which were clues as to what the author was trying to tell us. Then students made a conclusion on what the answer to the riddle was. Inference and conclusion were two new vocabulary words we talked about this week.

In honour of Remembrance Day, we will be collecting items for the Veteran’s Food Bank.  We will continue to collect donations until Wednesday, November 10^th. 

 

Here is a list of their most desired contributions:

Collection list: (new items only please) 

• Gluten free non-perishable food
• Canned corn, mushrooms, beef, chilli or stew
• Canned ham or luncheon meat
• Juice
• Flour
• Unscented fabric softener and laundry detergent
• Unscented lotion
• Dishwasher pods
• Bandages
